Manchester United have been linked with a second central midfielder this summer after talks over Frenkie de Jong appeared to hit a brick wall.
For most of the summer transfer window, we have seen a new De Jong to Manchester United story emerge.
And the latest came from Spanish outlet Sport, listing 10 reasons as to why the Dutchman will not move to Manchester United.

Manchester United eye Leandro Paredes
It has now been claimed that United have enquired about a potential move for Argentina international Leandro Paredes.
However, PSG’s £29.6 million asking price is said to be ‘complicating talks’ for the 28-year-old. The report states that United asked the French champions to advise them of a price for Paredes, should they wish to sell him to the Red Devils.
And this price does not seem overly high for a player of the midfielder’s talents. However, he did only make 15 appearances in Ligue 1 last term, perhaps leading United to believe that PSG are asking for too much for a squad player.
Regardless, it is clear that Manchester United need to sign a new defensive midfielder this summer, as their current central options are Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek – none of whom are particularly defensive-minded.
