Manchester United would target Memphis Depay (Barça) and Moussa Diaby (Leverkusen) for their next transfer windows. The two attackers could replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial respectively.
If we are to believe the elements relayed by Sport, Manchester United are pushing for the signing of Memphis Depay this winter. The Red Devils would be the most pressing among the Barça player’s courtiers. Their objective would join that of the player, namely to engage without the club having to pay compensation to the Catalan club. The operation would therefore only be possible if the Dutchman agreed with his leaders to terminate his contract. However, the negotiations could be concluded in the coming weeks.
Hampered by injuries, Memphis Depay has only played 8 games and scored 4 goals this season with Barcelona. The player does not appear in the small papers of Xavi, who should not align him either if he remains in the second part of the exercise. In Manchester, the former Lyonnais could compensate for the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract was terminated on Tuesday.
Martial pushed out
According Fichajes.net, the Mancunians have another player in their sights, for the attack: Erik ten Hag and his leaders would have validated the file of Moussa Diaby, in order to compensate for the possible departure of Anthony Martial, next summer. The Frenchman has been having difficulties since last season and today seems far from his best level. The native of Massy has only participated in 7 games this season, for 4 goals and 2 assists. His contract ends in 2024 and his value is only estimated at 15 million euros per Transfermarkt.
Aged 23, Moussa Diaby still has two and a half years of commitment with Bayer Leverkusen. The French international (8 caps) has scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in 25 games in all competitions this season. Manchester United will have to line up a big check to convince his club to let go.
