Manchester City have intensified their efforts to sign Enzo Fernandez and Cody Gakpo as clubs attempt to complete their final transfer business before the deadline.
City have entered the race for Liverpool and Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo, 27, with Tottenham still working on a potential deal for the player, according to Soccer News NL.
The Premier League champions are also pursuing Chelsea and Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez, although no further details of that proposed move have been disclosed.
Manchester United are continuing talks over a possible move for Arsenal and England teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly. United are confident they can persuade Arsenal to sell the 19-year-old, but the Gunners’ valuation of more than £50m remains a significant obstacle, reports the Sun.
Lewis-Skelly can operate at left-back or in midfield and has emerged as a target for United as they assess their options before the transfer window closes.
Elsewhere, Newcastle United have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City for the transfer of Spain midfielder Nico Gonzalez. The 24-year-old is set to move for £47m, with a further £3m potentially payable in add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Chelsea have made three unsuccessful bids this summer for Bournemouth and England midfielder Alex Scott, 23, according to The i. The reports do not specify the value of the rejected offers.
Hull City have put forward a €21m (£17.9m) proposal for Union Berlin and Germany Under-21 forward Ilyas Ansah. Negotiations over a long-term contract for the player are at an advanced stage, reports Sky Deutschland.

AC Milan are considering a late-window move for Manchester United and Morocco defender Noussair Mazraoui, 28, according to CaughtOffside.
Former Tottenham and England midfielder Dele Alli is also the subject of reported interest from Monza. The Italian club are expected to offer the 30-year-old a one-year contract, reports Fichajes.
Alli has been without a club since leaving Como in September 2025.
