Malta Guinness WPL: PearlPia Ladies back to winning ways, Dreamz Ladies end Ashtown winning run – Northern zone Review

Pearl Pia Ladies bounced back from their disappointing away defeat to Ampem Darkoa Ladies with a 3 – 0 win over Tamale Super Ladies at the Aliu Mahama Sports stadium. Pearl Pia was put in front through an individual effort by Georgina Aoyem in the 15th minute. But the debutants dominated proceedings throughout the game as Frederica Torkudzor scored a brace to end the game 3:0 in favour of Pearl Pia Ladies. The win puts them joint on top with Ampem Darkoa Ladies with 13 points after six round of matches in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

In another news, Dreamz Ladies ended the smooth run of Ashtown Ladies following a 2-0 win against the Kumasi giants in the Kumasi derby at the Bantama Astro Turf.  Two first half goals were enough to hand Dreamz Ladies the maximum points as Sarah Nyarko recorded the first goal of the game in the 9th minute before Stella Nyamekye converted from the spot in the 42nd minute to double her sides lead.

Defending Champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies proved a difficult test for Candy Soccer Academy at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa. The Techiman based side dominated from the start of the whistle and their experience proved unmatched for their host. Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah and Mary Amponsah both scored a hat trick as they defeat the newbies 6:2. Perpetual Tuah scored two goals from the spot for Candy Soccer Academy.
