Midfield maestro Lord Afrifa has made it clear that the Black Satellites’ ultimate target at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations is qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Speaking ahead of Ghana’s crucial Group C match against the Central African Republic (CAR), Afrifa emphasized the significance of the contest.
“Tomorrow’s game will be tough. CAR are good, but we’re ready,” said the Sturm Graz midfielder, who was a standout performer in Ghana’s narrow 1-0 win over Senegal.
“The teams in this tournament have shown quality, but Ghana is ready for any challenge.”
With four points from two games, Ghana sits second in Group C, level with leaders DR Congo but trailing on goal difference.
A win in Thursday’s clash at the Suez Canal Stadium would not only secure progression to the quarterfinals but also keep the team on course for World Cup qualification.
