The former nation Under-17 and Under-20 players has run into one road block after another as he seeks to transform his huge potential at junior level to his senior career but the latest is one he has no control over. Adams says he was settling in well into his six month loan spell at Libyan side Al-Ittihad before the political turmoil forced him and some other Ghanaian players to make return to Ghana via Egypt. “It was becoming dangerous so we had to drive to the Egypt border and connect from there back home,” he told KickOffGhana.com. “Now I am not sure when I will go back to Benghazi even though I hope it is very soon.” Adams was one of one of Ghana’s star performers at the World U-17 Championships in 2007 but has struggled since. He was banned for a year by world football governing body Fifa after they ruled he signed for Atletico Madrid while still on contract at Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel. He eventually got the sack from Madrid and returned to Sahel from where he has had two loan spells, one in Serbia and in Libya. He insists however that he has what it takes to bounce back from those difficulties. He told KickOffGhana.com: “Nothing has gone wrong. I am still Saddick but it is just a matter of time and I will bounce back. “I don’t think we made a mistake going to Europe at an early age. Any player wants to play there and you can see Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and others all went early. Sometimes things just don’t work in a certain way. It does not matter where you play, all that matters is that you work hard. “I have the confidence. All I need is another opportunity to prove in a national shirt that I am still very good.”
