Leicester set to agree multimillion deal to sign African speedster

Leicester City look certain to sign Abdul Fatawu next summer from Sporting CP following the winger scoring his first goal for the Foxes on Saturday.

That is according to Record, who reports that if Leicester win promotion to the Premier League this season, that will trigger a clause in Fatawu’s loan deal, that will ensure he joins the English club on a permanent basis ahead of the next campaign.

It is believed that the Foxes will have to pay Sporting a fee in the region of €17m for the Ghana star’s services; therefore, the club will hope that he puts in solid performances to justify spending that money.

Since completing his loan move to the King Power Stadium this summer, the 19-year-old has featured nine times for the Foxes and scored his first goal for the club in their 3-1 win away at Swansea City on Saturday.

Under new manager Enzo Maresca, Leicester sit top of the Championship having taken 33 points from their 12 league games so far. This means that they will be forced to sign Fatawu as of now, something Sporting CP are believed to want to happen.
