Legon Cities head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin has bemoaned his team’s lack of cutting edge in front of goal following their 3-2 win over Berekum Chesea on Friday.
The Royals had to score dramatic goals in the last minute of the game after wasting so many chances earlier in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League match week 28 clash at the Theater of Dreams in Dawu.
Speaking after the game, Paa Kwesi Fabin was not enthused about his team’s poor finishing but said he is satisfied with the three points.
“I think we could have scored more than three. In the first half, for example, we squandered so many chances and then we could have been up to about four or three in the first half.
“But all the same, taking the three points is the most important at this time of the league. So I’m okay with it.”
Fredrick Akatuk broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute, assisted by Stephen Appiah, giving Legon Cities the lead.
After halftime adjustments, Patrick Ansu equalized for Berekum Chelsea in the 85th minute. However, Legon Cities swiftly regained the lead with Yaya Rahim’s strike in the 87th minute.
The drama continued as Awuah Dramani leveled the score for Berekum Chelsea in the 90th minute.
In a thrilling finale, Fredrick Akatuk netted the decisive goal in the 90+4 minute, securing a crucial victory for Legon Cities.
