Legionary Soccer Academy makes impressive debut at 2024 Norway Cup

Ghana’s Division Two side Legionary Soccer Academy, made a remarkable impression at the prestigious 2024 Norway Cup.

The tournament, one of the largest in the world for young footballers aged 10 to 19, saw the team compete against 103 male and female teams from around the globe.

Despite a difficult start, losing 0-3 to Molde FK, the Ghanaians showed resilience and determination, drawing 3-3 with Follebu FL and securing a crucial 1-0 victory over Baune SK.

This propelled them to second place in Group 15 with four points, behind Molde FK who topped the group with nine points.

In the knockout stages, Legionary Academy delivered a standout performance, winning 4-1 against Sykkylven IL in the Round of 32. However, their journey came to an end in the Round of 16, losing 1-4 to Ranheim IL.

The team’s participation in the tournament was made possible by Brighterway Travel and Tour Agency, owned by the club’s CEO, Bright John Nyarko.
Christian Mensah, the chief scout, expressed satisfaction with the team’s display, highlighting the importance of international exposure in boosting their performance in the upcoming Division Two League.
