Aduana FC left it late to secure a 2-1 victory against Karela United in their Ghana Premier League clash at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park on Sunday.
The visitors struck first midway through the opening half after Aduana defender Salim Uzair Baafada inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the 27th minute.
The hosts reacted quickly and increased the tempo in search of an equaliser.
Their pressure paid off just four minutes later when captain Alex Boakye stepped up and calmly converted from the penalty spot to restore parity.
Both sides continued to trade chances in a closely fought contest, with Karela staying organised while Aduana pushed numbers forward.
As the clock ticked down and a draw appeared inevitable, substitute Charles Gyamfi Kamara produced a decisive moment in stoppage time.
His late finish sealed all three points for Aduana and sparked celebrations among the home fans.
The victory provides a timely lift for Aduana FC at the start of the second round of the season.
They will next take on Nations FC, while Karela United turn their attention to an upcoming fixture against Samartex.
