Laporta’s new 100 million transfer window plan

Barça surprised everyone this summer. While it was believed that the Blaugranas were incapable of recruiting without considerable sales, the Catalan workforce has been considerably reinforced with the arrivals of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and even Jules Koundé, and without losing any strong elements, in particular with the extension of Ousmane Dembele. A tour de force from Joan Laporta who must now register his new recruits in the league, and for that, the Barcelona president has a plan.

Laporta has several options

The club has already secured a cash inflow with the sale of 25% of the shares of Barça Studios to the Socios.com platform as well as the sale of part of the club’s TV rights. Faced with La Liga’s insistence, Laporta finds himself forced to explore other options. The first would be the activation of a new economic lever. According to Sport, this is the most likely option. This would be linked to the investment fund GDA Luma which would buy 24.5% more of Barça Studios. A sale that would bring in €100 million for the club.

The second possibility would go through the players. In case of failure of the transaction with GDA Luma, Laporta would like to sign a new contract with Gérard Pique. The central defender would agree to a significant reduction in his salary and allow the club to save on the wage bill. Still according to Sport, Sergio Busquets would also have agreed to do the same. A case that Laporta will have to solve quickly if he wants to see his new players at work this Sunday against Rayo Vallecano.
