Kyereh scores in third straight match as Freiburg hold Hertha

Ghana international, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh made it three consecutive goal-scoring outings as SC Freiburg picked up a 2-2 draw away to Hertha Berlin at Olympiastadion on Sunday.

The draw – Freiburg’s third in their past four games – temporarily sent the visitors a point clear of Union Berlin, who can reclaim first place in the Bundesliga standings by avoiding defeat at lowly Stuttgart later in the day.

Kyereh gave the visitors the desired start, scoring in his third straight match after tapping home a Ritsu Doan cutback with 22 minutes gone.

Hertha struck back just 10 minutes later via a penalty converted by Dodi Lukebakio.

Suat Serdar scored a superb solo goal in the 61st minute to give the hosts the lead.

With Hertha seemingly on track for what would have been just their second win of the season, substitute Kevin Schade pounced on a free-kick fumbled by goalkeeper Oliver Christensen to restore parity in the 78th minute.

In the closing stages, it was Hertha rather than Freiburg who looked more dangerous, but the visitors held on to claim a valuable point.
