Former Sports Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has weighed in on the controversy surrounding Kwasi Appiah’s dual roles as Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and head coach of the Sudan National Team.
Vanderpuye believes Appiah should resign from the GFA position to avoid any conflict of interest, especially since Sudan is set to play Ghana in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers this month.
The upcoming matches are crucial, with Sudan currently second in Group F with 3 points, and Ghana struggling with just 1 point after two games.
“Looking at what is going on now Akwasi Appiah should resign as an executive member to prevent any controversy” Lantey told Akoma FM.
The Black Stars will host Sudan at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 10, followed by an away game in Libya on October 15.
