Nations FC CEO Kwame Twumasi-Dankwah has stepped down, bringing an end to a transformative four-year spell at the helm of the ambitious Ghanaian club.
Twumasi-Dankwah’s exit comes just days after Nations FC fell agonizingly short of the Ghana Premier League title, finishing second following a final day defeat to Kpando Heart of Lions.
Appointed in 2021, he masterminded Nations FC’s swift rise through the ranks, guiding them from Division One League Zone Two straight into the Premier League within a year.
The club’s 2024/25 campaign, their second in the topflight, ended on a high note despite the heartbreak, as they battled Gold Stars closely for the title.
The timing of his resignation has raised eyebrows, especially after the club controversially pulled out of their clash against Basake Holy Stars over security issues.
While no official reason has been given for his departure, speculation continues to swirl around internal pressures and the intense scrutiny that followed the abandoned fixture.
The GFA had deducted the team three points plus three goals for walking off in the fixture on the penultimate match of the season.
