Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku, who also serves as the President of WAFU Zone B, has arrived in Ivory Coast to attend the highly anticipated final match of the 2024 WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League.
The thrilling finale, scheduled for Friday, August 23, 2024, will see Nigeria’s Edo Queens face off against Benin’s Ainonvi FC at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké.
During his visit, President Okraku held productive discussions with WAFU Zone B Executive Director Phillip Tchere and Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) Executive Director Armand Désiré Gohourou, focusing on the current state of affairs at the WAFU B Secretariat and preparations for upcoming competitions.
The road to the final has been exciting, with Ainonvi FC securing a 1-0 victory over Burkina Faso’s A.O Etincelle and Edo Queens overcoming host club Inter D’Abidjan with a hard-fought 2-1 win.
President Okraku had attended the third-place match on Thursday, August 22, 2024, where Inter D’Abidjan claimed the bronze medal with a 1-0 triumph over A.O Etincelle.
