Kumasi-based sports journalist Joachim Bokeem let off the hook by 2014 World Cup Commission

Sports Journalist Samuel Joachim Bokeem got off with a slap on the hand before the 2014 World Cup Commission over a contemptuous case.

The Kumasi-based journalist is alleged to have made statements on his radio program considered contemptuous and derogatory to the work of the Presidential Commission set up to probe into Ghana’s shambolic outing at the 2014 World Cup.

Bokeem after an early show of bravado was brought down to earth by an obviously furious chair of the commission Justice Senyo Dzamefe.

“Are you trying to justify what you did? Go on, I will show you today,” he said in response to Bokeem’s initial defence.

Lawyer of the Hello FM presenter Dickson Tweneboah Kodua made a timely intervention to calm the nerves of the commission chair who looked destined to pronounce a damning sentence.

But Tweneboah Kodua’s stance coupled with a show of solidarity of journalists gathered alongside the eventual posturing of the accused, Joachim Bokeem was left off the hook bit was instructed to make an official apology to the commission on Friday.

Bokeem later expressed regret for his actions deemed and said: “From now on I will even be an ambassador of the good works of the commission.”
