Mohammed Kudus shockingly snubbed for CAF Young Player award

Black Stars midfielder, Mohammed Kudus has shockingly been excluded for the CAF Youth Played award.

The continental football governing body selected ten young best players for the coveted prize without the 21-year-old.

Those included are Ghana attacker, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Burkina Faso’s Dango Ouattara, Ilaix Moriba (Guinea), El Bilal Tour (Mali), Akinkunmi Amoo (Nigeria), Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal), Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia), Karim Konate (Ivory Coast), Jesus Owono (Gabon) and James Gomez (Gambia).

Kudus was an integral member of the Black Stars team that qualified for the World Cup, including starting the two matches in the playoffs against Nigeria.

His absence in the team was massively felt as Ghana failed to win a game at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Despite Kudus’ season blighted by injuries, he netted six times and registered an assist in all competitions for Ajax in the 2021/22 season.
