Ghana international Mohammed Kudus wrapped up the goals as Ajax eased to a simple 4-0 victory over Cambuur in the Dutch Eredivisie Saturday afternoon.
For the fifth straight league game, the silky attacking midfielder was denied a starting berth but enjoyed a significant increase in game time as he was introduced at the start of second half of the home fixture at Johan Cruijff Arena to replace striker Brian Brobbey.
Steven Bergwijn, a summer signing from Tottenham, gave the champions a 2-0 first-half lead by scoring in the 35th and 40th minutes.
Kenneth Taylor, who was brought on together with Kudus at the break, quickly added a third with a deflected strike in the 53rd minute.
And on the hour mark, Kudus was on hand to tap in a fourth thanks to an assist from Nigerian left-back Calvin Bassey.
Ajax hold on to top spot with a perfect 15 points after 5 matches in the 2022/23 Eredivisie.
The focus now turns to their opening group stage match in the Uefa Champions League against Rangers on Wednesday.
