Asante Kotoko has moved closer to the Ghana Premier League summit after securing a 2-0 win over Eleven Wonders at the University of Ghana Stadium.
Peter Amidu Acquah opened the scoring in the 16th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse, and Johnson Owusu sealed the victory in stoppage time with a calm finish on his league debut.
The Porcupine Warriors dominated the match, dictating the tempo and creating chances, while Eleven Wonders struggled to cope with Kotoko’s organization and intensity.
This win takes Kotoko to third place with 27 points, just one point behind league leaders Aduana FC.
Coach Karim Zito expressed satisfaction with the win, stating it’s a vital step in their title pursuit. “If we can win today 2-0, it’s a plus for us,” he said.
