Asante Kotoko supporters’ leader Solomon Ofosu Ware says his club is ready to quieten Accra Hearts of Oak when the rivals meet on Sunday in Kumasi.
The fixture is the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League week 22 showdown, popularly branded the Super Clash, featuring the country’s two most decorated sides.
Kotoko head into the return meeting with an edge after edging Hearts 1-0 in Accra in the first round.
Hearts now travel north seeking revenge, but the Porcupine Warriors will line up without head coach Abdul Karim Zito.
Zito stepped down following a run of underwhelming performances.
His exit came a day after Kotoko were eliminated from the MTN FA Cup on penalties by Aduana FC at the round of 16 stage.
Even so, Ofosu Ware insists the team’s mentality and depth remain strong enough to prevail.
“We can play on Sunday without a coach and still beat Hearts of Oak,” he told Onua TV.
On the league table, Kotoko sit fifth with 35 points, one behind Hearts and eight adrift of leaders Medeama.
A win in Kumasi, he believes, would restore momentum and reassert Kotoko’s authority in Ghana’s biggest derby.
