Sports Minister Kofi Adams has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to strengthen the Black Stars’ video analysis department as the team steps up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
At present, Belgian coach Gregory de Grauwe serves as Ghana’s sole video analyst while also overseeing set-piece strategies. De Grauwe, who joined the technical team earlier this year and holds a UEFA B Licence, has been credited for his tactical input — but Adams insists more personnel are needed to compete at the highest level.
Speaking to UTV, the Buem Member of Parliament emphasized the importance of expanding the backroom staff to enhance the team’s technical efficiency.
“The area of the video analyst must be improved, and I don’t think we should go to the World Cup with two video analysts,” Adams said.
“I have my own way we should have more video analysts at the World Cup.”
Ghana will know their group-stage opponents when the World Cup draw is held on December 5. After a disappointing group-stage exit at Qatar 2022, the Black Stars are determined to make a stronger showing at next year’s tournament in North America.
