Black Queens head coach Kim Bjorkegren has reaffirmed his commitment to Ghana’s women’s national team, dismissing any speculation about a potential departure.
The Swedish tactician, who took charge earlier in 2025 following Nora Häuptle’s exit, has enjoyed a strong start to his tenure leading Ghana to a bronze medal at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and securing qualification for the 2026 edition in Morocco.
Speaking about his future, Bjorkegren revealed that he had turned down numerous offers before accepting the Ghana job, citing his belief in the team’s talent and potential.
“I can be completely honest; I had another 14 offers when I signed for Ghana, and I did that for a reason,” he said. “I want to be here in Ghana because I think I can help the girls and make a little bit of a difference. Together, I think we are on the way to something really, really good, and we already showed that in the summer. So I’m here to stay with the girls.”
His declaration offers a major morale boost for the Black Queens as they continue preparations for an international friendly against England in December and next year’s continental campaign.
