Kerolin Nicoli has arrived in Barcelona to complete the final steps of her move to Barcelona Women from Manchester City after a prolonged and complicated period of negotiations.

The 26-year-old Brazilian forward landed in Catalonia shortly before 10:00 local time on Tuesday, following a flight of about 10 hours from Sao Paulo, according to Mundo Deportivo, which was present at the airport for her arrival.

Nicoli had spent the previous days in Brazil waiting for confirmation that the transfer could be completed. Discussions between Barcelona and Manchester City continued for several weeks, with the process delayed by a document that the English club needed to send.

That paperwork held up the formal conclusion of the deal and extended negotiations between the two clubs, which involved lengthy exchanges before an agreement could be finalised.

Nicoli is expected to undergo a comprehensive medical examination in the coming hours. Subject to its completion, she will formally sign her contract with the Catalan club, marking the next stage of her professional career.

Her arrival was met with clear signs of excitement about the move. Before completing any official duties with Barcelona, the forward appeared to signal her early connection with the club and its supporters through a new hairstyle chosen specifically for the occasion.

Nicoli had braided her hair into the shape of a heart on one side, using Barcelona’s familiar blue and garnet colours. The design served as a visible symbol of her enthusiasm for the club before she had even taken her first official steps as a Barcelona player.

The forward is expected to strengthen Barcelona Women’s attack, bringing significant international experience from her time with Manchester City and the Brazil national team.

Her transfer follows weeks of uncertainty while the final details were resolved between the clubs. Although the move was delayed by administrative issues, her arrival in Barcelona indicates that the process is now approaching its conclusion.

The medical examination and subsequent contract signing remain the next formal stages before the transfer can be completed officially. Nicoli’s presentation and first involvement with the club will follow once those procedures have been finalised.

For now, her arrival marks the clearest indication yet that the Brazilian forward is set to begin a new chapter with Barcelona Women after her spell at Manchester City.
