Karim Zito is no stranger to miracles and he might just be on the verge of another one.
Just months ago, he led underdogs Dreams FC to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in their first-ever appearance.
Now, he’s got Asante Kotoko, one of Ghana’s biggest clubs, in the MTN FA Cup final for the first time in eight years.
It’s the kind of turnaround story that proves Zito is not just lucky but he’s brilliant.
Calm on the bench and clear with his game plan, Zito has made Kotoko more focused and dangerous. In the semi-final, they squeezed past Berekum Chelsea with a 1-0 win, showing grit, not glamour.
Next, they face Golden Kick, a lower-tier side that’s surprised everyone in this tournament but Zito is taking nothing for granted.
“You can’t underrate anyone until you get what you want,” he boldly said ahead of the June 15 final.
“That hunger, that attitude, it’s what makes him different.”
He’s building confidence in the squad and belief in the fans once again. A win in the final could deliver Kotoko their first FA Cup title since 2017. It would also solidify Zito’s place as one of Ghana’s finest coaches of this generation.
From Dreams to Kotoko, his journey is proof that hard work and humility win games.
Now, all eyes are on the University of Ghana Stadium because if there’s one man who can deliver glory, it’s Karim Zito.
