Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito says his players must show greater hunger and urgency when they host Young Apostles in the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw by Aduana Stars, and Zito believes lapses in mentality cost them the chance to take all three points.
Speaking to AKSC TV, he warned his squad against waiting to concede before reacting.
“The attitude should be even bigger than the one we went in with against Aduana. We’ve seen our mistakes, we’ve corrected them, and we’ve spoken about the mentality. Why should you wait for somebody to beat you before you wake up to play?” he said.
Zito added that matches like these are non-negotiable if Kotoko truly intend to challenge for the title.
“For the match against Young Apostles, we don’t have any excuse. If we mean to win the league, these are the games we must win — all home matches, no matter how.”
Kotoko sit sixth on the table, five points behind joint leaders Medeama and Heart of Lions, and fans are demanding a decisive response at the Baba Yara Stadium.
