Karela United head coach, Ibrahim Tanko Shaibu, expressed disappointment with his team’s inability to capitalize on their opportunities following the stalemate against Hearts of Oak in the Betpawa Premier League.
The Pride and Passion boys clashed with the Phobians at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
The home team was granted a penalty in the 84th minute, but Evans Adomako failed to convert the spot-kick.
Coach Tankoh assured that his team would bounce back with renewed motivation for their next match on Friday afternoon, saying, “Everything went well except that we did not take our chances.”
“Imagine getting a penalty in the 84th minute, with just 6 minutes to go, and the player misses it. So, what else can I do? I’ll continue to encourage and motivate them for the upcoming challenge,” he added.
The draw leaves Karela in the relegation zone with 9 points after nine games in the ongoing campaign.
Coach Tankoh’s boys are scheduled to travel to the nation’s capital to face Accra Lions in their week 10 fixture of the ongoing campaign.
