Karela United will be eager to return to winning ways when they welcome Vision FC on matchday 15 of the Ghana Premier League, with both sides chasing very different objectives.
The Tamale-based outfit suffered a setback last weekend, falling to Young Apostles just a week after recording a stunning victory over Hearts of Oak. Despite that dip, Karela’s season has been relatively solid. They currently sit eighth on the table, seven points adrift of leaders Aduana FC, having won two and lost two of their last five matches.
For Vision FC, the situation is far more precarious. The Eewo lads are deep in the relegation battle after a difficult start to the campaign. They have managed just one win in their last eight matches, a narrow success against fellow strugglers Eleven Wonders in November, and are desperate for a turnaround.
Head-to-head history offers little separation. In their two Premier League meetings, Vision FC have one win, while the other contest ended in a draw.
Karela will look to lean on the experience of Abdul Fatawu Mohammed and Abdul Ganiu Mohammed to drive their push for maximum points, while Vision FC will hope goalkeeper Kwame Aziz and Adjetey Sowah can inspire a much-needed revival.
With Karela chasing a win to break into the top four and Vision FC determined to end a six-game winless run, Sunday’s clash promises high stakes and plenty of tension.
