English Premier League side Everton have struck a €20 million deal to sign Ghanaian winger Ernest Nuamah from French club Olympique Lyon during the January transfer window, according to RMC Sport.
The Toffees, currently in 16th place and just one point above the relegation zone, are seeking reinforcements to maintain their Premier League status.
Nuamah, 21, joined Lyon from Belgian side RWD Molenbeek in July 2024 for €28.5 million. Despite his high-profile arrival, he has struggled to make a significant impact, recording just one goal in 18 appearances this season across all competitions, including the UEFA Europa League.
The Ghanaian international was close to a Premier League move last summer, with a €19 million deal to join Fulham collapsing in the final hours of the transfer window.
Everton, however, have now successfully secured his signature, offering him a fresh opportunity to prove his talent in England.
Nuamah began his career at Danish club Nordsjaelland, where he made a name for himself by winning both the Danish Super Liga Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards in the 2022-23 season.
He later moved to Lyon, scoring three Ligue 1 goals in his debut campaign as the club finished sixth and secured a Europa League spot.
On the international stage, Nuamah has earned 12 caps for Ghana, scoring three goals. His pace and attacking versatility are expected to provide a much-needed boost to Everton’s bid to avoid relegation.
