Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil completed his return from injury with a first time finish for his side (La Galaxy) in their 4-2 trouncing of Kansas Sporting on Saturday night in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
Paintsil, who had been out for three weeks through a muscle injury, was a doubt to feature in the game prior to kick-off.
However, the former KFC Genk player was introduced as a second half substitute in the 65th minute of the game.
The substitution paid off as the Ghanaian was completely unmarked at the far post, allowing him to prod the ball into a gaping goal after receiving a square pass, scoring the 3rd of four goals in the process.
Paintsil’s goal, on the 75th minute, took his season’s tally to 5 in 14 games, albeit with an assist count of 5 in that same period.
Despite joining the team in February, Paintsil’s goal contributions have helped to elevate the team into 3rd position in the Western Conference.
