Ghana and LA Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil has expressed confidence in the Black Stars’ chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following the team’s disappointing failure to secure a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the senior national team is now shifting focus to the World Cup qualifiers, which is set to resume in March.
Paintsil highlighted the significance of Ghana’s presence at the Mundial and remains optimistic about their qualification prospects, despite recent setbacks.
The Black Stars face Madagascar and Chad as they eye the summit of the table.
“I’m positive that Black Stars will qualify for the World Cup because it’s something that’s really dear to me, I also want to play in the World Cup,” Paintsil said.
“I never had the opportunity to play in the World Cup, so having the opportunity now to qualify and represent myself, my family, and my friends is really something important for me,” he told GHOne TV.
“So me going to the field, I need to give everything, so that’s the most important thing and every player is going to do the same thing,” he added.
