Ghanaian forward Joseph Opoku made an immediate impact for Swansea City by scoring his first goal for the club in a pre-season friendly victory over Leganes.
The 22-year-old joined the Championship side from Belgian club Zulte Waregem only a few days ago, but wasted little time in making his mark. He opened the scoring in the 43rd minute to give Swansea the lead against their Spanish opponents.
Opoku’s goal provided an early indication of his potential importance to Swansea City as they prepare for the 2026/27 campaign. Despite his recent arrival, the forward looked settled enough to pose a consistent threat to the Leganes defence during his time on the pitch.
