Jose Mourinho takes charge of Alexander Djiku and Fenebarche as new head coach

Legendary Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho has been appointed as the new gaffer for Turkish outfit Fenebarche, implying that the proven manager will work in tandem with Alexander Djiku from next season.

Djuku completed his free transfer switch from Strasbourg -where ha had spent four seasons- to Fenebarche prior to the commencement of the 23/24 season.

The 29-year-old defender has since gone on to perform at the highest level for the club, starting 23 out of 25 games and steering his side to 9 clean sheets in that time.

Fenebarche have failed to clinch the Turkish top flight since the 2013/14 season, although an inspired collective team performance saw the club trail to bitter rivals Galatsary by 3 point in the just ended season.

Mourinho’s track record across Europe – winning league titles in England, Spain & Italy- is seen as a step in the right direction to regain domestic superiority as he takes the stead of the departed Ismail Kartal.

Djiku, who is contracted to the club until 2026, is seen as a reliable player who perfectly suits the profile José admires
