AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho has been handed a two-match suspension after he was sent off for an outburst at the referee.
Mourinho was sent off in the stoppage time as Roma were held to a 2-2 draw by Hellas Verona over the weekend. The Special One was filmed shouting at the referee Luca Pairetto and mimed a phone call, a gesture that saw him sent off.
The Portuguese grabbed the ball and footed it away before he skipped his post-match media duties. He went on to write ‘go home and have a nice dinner.’
The Italian Football Federation said he “made serious allegations” against the referee “with a threatening attitude, blatantly disputing the refereeing decision.
Mourinho, whose side is eighth on the log with 41 points was also fined €20,000 ($22,660).
