Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew is taking a cautious approach to his future at Leicester City after the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
With a year left on his contract, Ayew is weighing his options, saying, “Staying is an option and leaving is also an option… I’m happy there. I just want to play football and enjoy myself – that’s what makes me happy.”
Ayew had a challenging debut season under manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, but still managed to make 36 appearances and score six goals. Speculation surrounds his future, with some suggesting he may leave Leicester to pursue top-flight football. However, Ayew is in no rush to make a decision, stating, “I have one more year on my contract. I need to go on holiday now and see what’s going to happen.”
Ayew’s versatility and adaptability were key assets for Leicester, allowing him to feature in various attacking roles. He contributed importantly both as a starter and off the bench, adding depth to the team’s frontline. For now, Ayew is focused on enjoying his football and taking things as they come, rather than making any hasty decisions about his future.
