Jonathan Mensah starts preseason training with the New England Revolution

Ghanaian defender Jonathan Mensah has embarked on his pre-season journey with the New England Revolution.

After leaving the San Jose Earthquakes at the end of the previous campaign, the 33-year-old defender, whose lengthy career has been refined throughout many MLS teams, quickly established himself as a member of the Eastern Conference team.

After the training session, New England Revolution played a modified 120-minute game against reigning Supporters’ Shield champions FC Cincinnati at IMG Academy.

Thursday’s modified game was played in four 30-minute periods, giving most players an opportunity to play 60 minutes with a brief halftime at the half-hour mark.

Twelve days into their prolonged stay in Florida and nearly three weeks into their preseason training, Revolution players and staff will take a four-day break to recover and recharge.

The players will get back together in Florida on Monday night and start training again on Tuesday after the break.

Revolution will play Independiente de La Chorrera in the CONCACAF Champions League on February 22nd, 2024.
