Jarell Quansah has made a strong first impression at Bayer Leverkusen by joining them in camp for training.
The 22-year-old English-Ghanaian defender reported to the club’s preseason training camp in Rio de Janeiro ahead of schedule, surprising many with his early arrival.
Quansah, who joined from Liverpool FC, was initially expected to miss the opening days of the camp due to an extended break following his involvement in the U21 European Championship.
But instead of taking more time off, he chose to link up with his new teammates before the official reporting date.
Leverkusen are counting on Quansah’s composure and defensive presence to bolster their backline this season.
His early presence in camp could help him settle in quickly as the team prepares for a busy preseason schedule.
The Rio training camp runs until July 24 and includes a series of friendlies, starting with a match against Flamengo U20.
Leverkusen will also face Bochum, Fortuna, Pisa, and wrap up their preparations with a high-profile clash against Chelsea.
