I’ve been waiting a long time for this – Ghanaian Jesurun Rak-Sakyi following loan switch to Charlton – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

English-born Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi says it feels good to be a Charlton Athletic player after signing a season-long loan deal with the League One side.

The 19-year-old has joined Charlton on loan in search of regular first-team opportunities.

He said: “It feels really good to be a Charlton player”

“I’ve been waiting a long time for this and I’m just thankful to God and thankful to everyone for making it happen. I’m excited to get started.”

“There were a lot of clubs interested but I chose Charlton because it’s close to home, the fans are really good, the club has a big history and it gives a platform for young players to express themselves.”

He appeared in two Premier League games last season and has represented England U20s, scoring on his debut in September 2021.

Rak-Sakyi drew interest from a number of EFL clubs before joining Charlton.

He comes after an impressive Premier League 2 season in which he finished as the division’s joint-top scorer with 18 goals and six assists.

Following the arrivals of Eoghan O’Connell, Mandela Egbo, Joe Wollacott, Conor McGrandles, Steven Sessegnon, and Jack Payne, the high-rated forward becomes Charlton’s seventh signing of the summer.
