It was a tough match but we did well – Leverkusen winger Hudson-Odoi reacts to draw against Atl. Madrid

Bayer Leverkusen winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi has expressed his delight after helping the team to pick a point from the clash against Atletico Madrid.

The on-loan Chelsea forward started for the German Bundesliga club on Wednesday when the team played against the Spanish La Liga outfit in round five of the group stages of this season’s Uefa Champions League.

In a game that ended in a 2-2 draw, Callum Hudson-Odoi netted the second goal for the visitors.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the talented youngster said the game was not easy.

“It was a tough match but I felt we did really well, we worked hard off the ball and took the chances when they came,” the English-Ghanaian attacker shared.

Hudson-Odoi added, “It’s one of those [Champions League] campaigns when you look at it you think to yourself that you could have maybe conceded less goals, scored more goals, and obviously won more games.

“But we just need to keep pushing forward and I think that’s what we’ve done.”

The draw against Atletico Madrid means that Bayer Leverkusen have been eliminated from this season’s Uefa Champions League.
