Kingsley Ofori has stated that he is excited to continue playing for Finnish side SJK. SJK announced the permanent signed of the striker on Monday.
Ofori, a 20-year-old player on loan from the EurAfrica Academy who began the 2020 season, debuted in the Veikkausliiga in April 2022 during a home game against HJK.
After that, Ofori participated in all 17 Veikkausliiga games that season and assisted with one goal-scoring pass. Ofori also competed in eight games for SJK Academy in the First Division, where he scored four goals.
With SJK, playing time also occurred in competitions and UEFA Europa Conference League games.
“We are very happy that we were able to secure Kingsley permanently. He has been a perfect example of what we want to achieve here with young talents. He always shows a great desire to learn and become a better professional player. And with us, he has grown from a Kakkonen player to a Veikkausliiga player who has already been able to play on Euro courts as well, meaning he has gone through all the steps on the player’s path, says SJK head coach Joaquín Gómez.
“We are excited to help him reach his full potential, learn to use his speed, technical abilities, and adaptability to several different roles for the benefit of the team. All these are things that will surely refine him into the leading top player for us,” Gómez concludes.
Born in Drobo, Ghana on May 1, 2002, Kingsley Ofori is a winger who can play low in defense or higher in attack. Ofori has been playing in Seinäjoki since the 2020 season on a loan contract, and during that time Ofori has risen first to the star players of SJK Academy and then to SJK’s representative team.
“It feels really great and great to continue here with SJK. It is every academy player’s dream to be able to play in the national team, so the last season and the continuation here is a special thing for me,” says SJK winger Kingsley Ofori.
“Last season, playing on the Eurocourts was also a nice experience, so next season my goal is to help the team to the Eurocourts again,” Ofori continues.
