Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola has played down his influence over the future of Antoine Semenyo, admitting the club may be powerless to stop interest in the Ghanaian winger.
Semenyo has been linked with a host of Premier League giants including Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and most recently Chelsea, following his standout displays this season.
Speaking about the forward, Iraola stressed his focus is on ensuring the speculation does not affect Semenyo’s performances.
“Antoine Semenyo right now is with us. He’s playing very well. My concern is that it doesn’t affect him,” Iraola said.
“He’s committed to the team and I hope we can keep him, but there are things happening out of our control.”
The Spanish coach praised Semenyo’s consistency and overall contribution beyond goals and assists.
“For me, Antoine has been performing very well since the beginning of the season. He’s very valuable for us – not just the numbers, but a lot of things,” he added.
Iraola, however, conceded uncertainty remains as the January transfer window approaches.
“You never know what’s going to happen. In the summer there were a lot of movements and I don’t know what will happen in the winter. I hope we don’t lose him, but I can’t control what’s going to happen.”
Semenyo, who is under contract until 2030 and has a reported £65 million release clause, has enjoyed an impressive 2025/26 campaign, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in 16 Premier League appearances.
The 25-year-old will be hoping to maintain that form when Bournemouth host Brentford at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
