Accra Hearts Of Oak trainer Samuel Boadu has attributed his side’s defeat to Real Tamale United to the plethora of injuries in camp.
RTU thrashed the Rainbow family 4-1 at the Accra Sports stadium in the final week of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
Suraj Seidu scored the only goal for the Phobians in the 9th minute. Roland Frimpong’s header levelled the tie in the 19th minute and added his second of the afternoon after David Abagna had made it 2-1 for the visitors from the spot.
Defender Mohammed Alhassan scored an own goal which took the game completely beyond the reach of the home team.
“Injuries affected us. Most of our players are injured and that really affected our performance,” Samuel Boadu said.
RTU have attained 41 points, one clear of the bottom which guaranteed their stay in the topflight.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak finished in sixth with 48 points.
