Athletic Bilbao’s Ghanaian striker, Inaki Williams, has been sidelined with a left hamstring strain, ruling him out of Sunday’s La Liga clash against Real Valladolid.

The 30-year-old’s injury is a significant concern for Ghana’s Black Stars, who face crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger next week.

Williams was named in Ghana’s 25-man squad.

The club’s official statement reads: “The forward will be unavailable for Sunday’s La Liga clash with Real Valladolid.”

“Athletic Club forward Iñaki Williams will miss Sunday’s LaLiga clash with Real Valladolid after straining his left hamstring muscles.”

The clubs medical team is assessing the extent of the injury, with a scan scheduled for Monday.

This season, Williams has scored five goals and provided four assists in 16 appearances.
