In-coming substantive Ghana coach Otto Addo to retain entire backroom staff for World Cup –

 

Ghana coach Otto Addo will retain his entire backroom staff for the 2022 World Cup, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

The former Ghana international has been given the green light by the club to take charge of the Black Stars in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers and the 2022 World Cup.

“I got permission from Dortmund. Under certain conditions, it works out that I can do the international game phases in June, September and also the World Cup”-Via Hamburger Abendblatt/Podcast”.

Otto Addo together with three others George Boateng, Mas-ud Didi Dramani, and Chris Hughton as technical advisors qualified Ghana for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

The Black Stars qualified via the away goal rule after a 1-1 aggregate against Nigeria in both legs.

The Otto Addo led-technical team ended their contract with the Ghana Football Association after the 2022 World Cup playoffs.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that Otto Addo who has now gotten the permission to lead the Black Stars will continue his role with George Boateng of Aston Villa U-23, Didi Dramani of Right to Dream and Chris Hughton as technical advisor.

The Ghana FA is in talks with the clubs of Didi Dramani and George Boateng for them to continue their roles until the 2022 World Cup.

Talks are also ongoing with former Brighton boss Chris Hughton as technical advisor to the team.

Otto Addo will be on the touch line when Ghan host Madagascar in the opening game of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on June 1.

Ghana face Madagascar, Angola and Central Africa Republic in Group E of the qualifiers.

In the 2022 World Cup, the Black Stars will face Portugal, Uruguay and Korea Republic.

The Black Stars technical team will assess the squad during the qualifiers ahead of 2022 World Cup which kicks off in November.
