Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has expressed his gratitude to captain Jordan Ayew for his encouraging words during his time with the Black Stars.
Asare made a stellar debut for Ghana, keeping two consecutive clean sheets in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
He was in goal as Ghana thrashed Chad 5-0 in Accra and secured a 3-0 victory against Madagascar, moving to the top of Group I with 15 points after six games.
Speaking to Hearts of Oak TV, the 32-year-old said: “Special thanks to Jordan Ayew, he motivated me all the time and told me that, despite being a local player, I can do this.”
Ghana will face Chad and Mali in the upcoming qualifiers in September.
