Ignatius Osei-Fosu joins Black Starlets in camp after missing first Group match

Assistant Coach of the Black Starlets Ignatius Osei-Fosu has joined the team in Cape Coast for the WAFU B U-17 Cup of Nations after missing the opening match against Nigeria due to club commitment.

Ignatius could not join the team earlier because he was busy preparing his team – Dreams FC for the weekend’s penultimate Premier League encounter against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park.

Osei-Fosu arrived in Cape Coast on Sunday evening where he joined the team in training on Monday morning ahead of second game against Togo on Friday, June 17, 2022.

The Black Starlets lost 4-2 to the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria in the opener and will be aiming to bounce back against Togo on Friday.

The Starlets despite winning the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations twice has failed to impress in recent years having finished 2nd in 2017 after losing 1-0 to Mali in the final.

They will be hoping to break the five year jinx with a host and win mentality as a slot at the TotalEnergies Africa U-17 Cup of Nations tournament in Algeria beckons.
