Ghanaian coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu is calling for greater trust in homegrown coaches to lead the Black Stars.
He believes local coaches have the knowledge, tactical expertise, and passion to achieve success.
“It has been a history that no foreign coach has ever won anything for us and so if we go by history, I think the local coaches should be given an opportunity, ” he told Citi Sports.
Otto Addo, who was based in Germany, is the current coach of the senior national team.
Kwesi Appiah is the only homegrown trainer in over two decades to have led the Black Stars.
He is now in charge of Sudan national team with Osei-Fosu as his assistant.
Sudan qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and in contention to secure a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup under the tutelage of the Ghanaian trainers.
