ICYMI: Man United transfer chief Matt Judge resigns

Matt Judge, Manchester United’s director of football negotiations, has resigned from the club, according to a report.

Since taking on the post in 2014, while Louis van Gaal was manager, Judge was responsible for the majority of the talks regarding moves and contracts at Old Trafford.

According to The Athletic, that post may soon become empty, as Judge is presently serving a notice period in preparation for a departure later this year, following weeks of contemplation about his status at United.

The resignation comes as United undergo a big off-field restructure in preparation for the arrival of new first-team manager Erik ten Hag in the summer.

Ed Woodward resigned as executive vice-chairman in March and was replaced by Richard Arnold following a tumultuous nine years at the club.

Jim Lawlor, the club’s chief scout, and Marcel Bout, the club’s head of global scouting, both resigned in recent weeks, leaving John Murtough in complete charge of football operations ahead of a big summer for the Red Devils.
