I had a good feeling during the warmup I was going to score against Everton – Jordan Ayew

Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has attributed his spectacular goal against Everton to his pre-match shooting practice, highlighting its impact on his performance during Monday’s Premier League clash.

Ayew showcased his scoring prowess as he found the back of the net during the encounter at Goodison Park, securing a 1-1 draw for the Eagles against the Toffees.

The Ghanaian international delivered a moment of brilliance in the 66th minute, unleashing a powerful strike from outside the box to put Crystal Palace in the lead.

Reflecting on his goal post-match, Ayew revealed that his success stemmed from replicating similar efforts during the warm-up session, which bolstered his confidence heading into the game.

“In the warm-up, I scored maybe five in a row, so I had a good feeling today! Sometimes things go your way, sometimes they don’t go your way, but you still need to keep pushing, and that’s what I’ve been doing throughout my whole career,” Ayew shared with the club’s official website.

Acknowledging the unpredictable nature of football, Ayew emphasized the importance of persistence and determination, noting that success ultimately comes from continuous effort.

“It comes sometimes. You try, try, try… it could have gone up, but this time it was successful. Today things went well for me,” Ayew concluded.
