Salim Adams could not hide his delight after finding the net against Hearts of Oak as Medeama SC closed the first round of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League on a winning note.
The midfielder’s decisive strike sealed a narrow 1-0 victory at the TnA Stadium in Tarkwa, a result that kept Medeama top of the table heading into the new year.
Adams came back to haunt his former side in the 74th minute, arriving late in the box to finish off a well-worked move.
“I feel so great.
“We’ve been training [for that kind of goal].
“A midfielder should stay for a cut-back so I knew there would be a cut-back and that is why I stayed for it.”
The win ensured Medeama finished the first round as leaders, opening a small gap at the summit.
Hearts, meanwhile, battled bravely but were left fifth on the standings with 28 points.
