Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has expressed his delight in returning to the role, emphasizing his increased experience.
The former Ghana international was officially confirmed on March 15, 2024, by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
He has replaced Chris Hughton, who was sacked after Ghana’s early exit at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
Addo’s appointment comes with a 34-month contract, with the potential for extension by an additional two years, as stated in a communique from the GFA.
Speaking to Dortmund’s media team, Otto Addo conveyed his enthusiasm for the forthcoming journey. “It is an immense honour to lead my national team as head coach. Having already garnered substantial experience during my tenure as interim coach, I eagerly anticipate the challenges that await me,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Otto Addo has announced a 26-man squad for the Black Stars’ friendly games against Uganda and Nigeria later this month in Morocco.
